It’s a new year and 365 days (give or take a few days!) to be the best version of you. In hind sight I would say 2017 was the year of new beginnings and closure as well. It was about making room for what is to come in this new year.
I don’t know what it is about THIS year in particular that has got me so excited and motivated for the next 12 months. I had an ‘ah-ha’ moment on new year’s day, I heard a determined voice inside me say, ‘2018 is the year to do epic stuff, this is the year to step up your game, no more procrastination, no more skating by -it’s time to push yourself past your limits and be the very best version of yourself.’
This is the message I want to leave with you too. I believe risks, can be dangerous, however a calculated risk can be the best thing that could happen to you. It could lead to amazing opportunities. However, don’t fret if you’re a housewife and thinking, ‘well, what could I possibly do that could be epic?’ Well, my answer would be, it’s all relative really – to you, it could mean being supermom, stepping up your packed lunches game for your kids, re-organising that cluttered room that has been annoying you all year last year, it could even mean focusing on bettering yourself and being more diligent about working out and eating healthier – it’s really up to you what that next level looks like for you.
My advice would be make a to-do list of everything you want to achieve this year, that’s what I did. I even gave each of them a deadline, so I have dates to work towards. Don’t be too rigid about them if you don’t meet those deadlines for any reason, but it’ll definitely provide you with a road map of what and when you want to achieve.
I have decided to cancel out the proverbial ‘noise’ and get more focused on my goals and what I would like to achieve, there are so many distractions out there, don’t let them deter you from what you would like to achieve this year.
Let’s all look back on this year come 31 December 2018 as a job well done!
