Nike always seems to be one step ahead of the pack and my favourite thing about them (aside from their amazing apparel) are their free apps and fitness classes they offer their customers.
Their Nike Training Club app has just got a whole lot better, because now you can use it to do full yoga sessions anywhere at your convenience. I’ve mentioned before the huge benefits of incorporating yoga into your exercise regime. It’s a great way to work out the ‘kinks’ of your heavy lifting or more rigorous training sessions, it helps with flexibility, building strength in your muscles and just destressing.
So having yoga in addition to all the other workouts on the app provides a holistic approach to your fitness.
Nike Master Trainer and yogi Branden Collinsworth said “That’s why we create programming that prepares you for whatever life has to throw at you.”

Collinsworth, along with Nike Master Trainers and yogis Traci Copeland and Leah Kim helpedevelopment of all the app’s routines. Just like with other NTC app programs, each yoga workout falls in one of three pillars: endurance (flows that help you build stamina); strength (typically involving flows that hold poses longer to increase muscle strength); and mobility (restorative sessions that aim to release tension and help you recharge mentally).

“These new workouts are really powerful because they offer the chance to practice no matter what your goal is or where you are on your yoga journey,” says Kim. “With the varying workout focus areas, lengths and poses, there is something for everyone – from the beginner yogi looking to improve their practice to those who are more advanced.”
The Nike Yoga workout routines range from 15-45 minutes long. Offering a range of shorter-session lengths makes finding space for yoga more approachable, so that you can easily build a healthy habit and create a balanced athletic life. “This isn’t about just doing yoga on what would otherwise be an off day, but actually making yoga a regular part of your routine,” says Copeland.

If you already have the NTC app, search “yoga” to find the new workouts. If you don’t have the app, search your app store for the free download. Four new yoga workouts are already available on the app. Another 10 will become available between July and September.
