Women Who Inspire me

On the 9th of August is Women’s Day in South Africa. While this day has roots in the political struggle of the country, the over arching message I take from that day in history is the immeasurable strength of the fairer sex.

I love that line from Beyonce’s ‘Run the World’ – “…strong enough to bear your children then get back to business.” It sums up the power of a woman to a T – we are mothers, wives, sisters, friends, career women and so much more.

This is why I thought it was so important to celebrate phenomenal women in a big way this month. The six women that we will feature this month are all friends of mine, some I have known  for a very long time (since high school), others I have met along the way through work. While they are all very different, what they do have in common is their passion for living their best healthy, happy life. Despite the everyday challenges of life, these six women never sacrifice their well being and in that is a great lesson for all of us to learn from.

Their examples inspire me everyday, whether it be through their social media posts, our conversations, their work or their Snapchats! I knew their stories would inspire you too!

Over the next month you’ll get to know what makes these women jump out of bed and hopefully their stories will inspire you to embrace your best life too. Our 2016 Women’s month Campaign is entitled “This is my fitness journey.” These ladies will be sharing theirs with you over the next few weeks.

Kamini Pather – TV Chef

Mary Lu – Lawyer, Blogger, Business owner

Rozanne McKenzie – Mother, wife, TV & Radio presenter

Rushda Moosajee – Personal Trainer and Owner of Cape Town Ladies studio – ‘Glow’

Samantha Ryder – Mother, personal trainer

Simoné Conley – Biokineticist, NTC Trainer

Even while on location at News Cafe in Rosebank, these ladies were just such a pleasure to be around, first of all, getting six highly successful, busy women in one place was no easy feat (I feel like I should get a medal for that!). Once in one room together, it was sheer magic, their positive energy and beauty (inside and out) made this by far one of our favourite shoots.

I was so thrilled when BelVita Breakfast Biscuits heard about our campaign, they jumped at the chance to partner with FABUFIT for our ‘This is my Fitness Journey’ Women’s Month campaign, “We were so excited to be part of FABUFIT’s Women’s Month Campaign, as belVita Breakfast biscuits is the perfect snack to help breakfast believers achieve energy for their mornings and get their fitness journey off to a great start!” – Jaritha Narsey, Category Brand Manager.

We will be providing a full review of BelVita Breakfast Biscuits in the coming weeks which will be done by two independent registered dieticians.
